Until this season, the Dragons had qualified for the Michigan high school football just two times since playoffs began in 1975. But they had never advanced to the second round. Until Thursday. Swartz Creek extended the best football season in school history by beating visiting Carman-Ainsworth 28-6 in the opening round of the Division 2 playoffs. The Dragons will play the winner of Friday’s game between Traverse City Central (5-1) and Saginaw Heritage (0-5) in next week’s second round for a spot in the Nov. 13-14 district finals. Senior Brennen Larion scored three rushing touchdowns for the Dragons and John Pavelchek added another TD after taking a blocked punt into the end
