Five photos taken by local and foreign photographers capturing the beauty of Vietnam's nature and daily life have been honored at the first annual Aerial Photography Awards. This shot by Vietnamese photographer Duy Sinh won first place in the "People and Daily Life" category. It depicts a fisherman casting a net in  Phu Yen , a coastal province in south-central Vietnam where most residents subsist on fishing. Vietnamese photographer Thien Nguyen won second place in the "People and Daily Life" category for his "Anchovy Harvest" shot. Anchovies are considered a specialty along the central coast and are used to produce the quintessential Vietnamese condiment – fish sauce. For many years, the small  Hon Yen Islet  in Phu Yen has attracted young travelers and photographers with its pristine beauty and carpets of coral reefs, exposed during low tide.
