Mohamed Sanu opens up about difficult tenure with Patriots Sanu opens up about difficult tenure with  Patriots  originally appeared on  NBC Sports Boston Before last year's NFL trade deadline, the New England Patriots traded away a second-round pick to the  Atlanta Falcons  for wide receiver Mohamed Sanu. Sanu was supposed to be the missing piece to the puzzle for a Patriots offense that needed another weapon for then-quarterback  Tom Brady . Unfortunately, the trade turned out to be one of the worst of the Bill Belichick era. In eight games, Sanu caught only 26 passes for 207 yards and one touchdown. The veteran wideout  opened up the difficult transition  to New England in a conversation with Albert Breer of The MMQB. Re-setting the Patriots depth chart at WR without Edelman, Harry “It was definitely a hard playbook,” Sanu said. “I get playbooks very easily—I understand the Falcons playbook like the back of my hand. People would say I was the quarterback of the receivers. When so

Debrief: Six season-altering developments in Week 5 Dak Prescott and his brother Tad spent time Sunday night, a brutal night in a brutal year,  in the hospital together , already looking forward to coming back stronger. After watching Prescott overcome personal tragedies in his life and questions about his game on the field, I have little doubt he'll do so. I have little doubt it will happen in a Cowboys uniform. But that's for 2021. In the here and now,  the compound right ankle fracture and dislocation  that Dak suffered Sunday against the Giants changed the complexion of the NFC in an instant. The cruel blow eliminates any backdoor route the Cowboys were hoping to take to title-contender status. It's possible that backup Andy Dalton could still lead the Cowboys to a playoff spot in one of the worst divisions in memory without his two starting offensive tackles, but that's beside the point. Dallas has lost early in the playoffs plenty before, and that's a

Falcons' Jones out with lingering hamstring injury

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The emotions of a last-second win against the  New York Giants  could not overcome the disappointment the  Dallas Cowboys  felt Sunday after losing quarterback  Dak Prescott  for the season. Prescott suffered a compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle that will require surgery Sunday night. The injury occurred on a 9-yard run while being tackled by Giants defensive back  Logan Ryan  with 6:33 to play in the third quarter, and it quickly brought a hush to the AT&T Stadium crowd, teammates and opponents alike. Prescott left the field, his left leg in an air cast, on a cart and in tears. He was taken to local hospital for surgery to clean out the wound and repair the fracture. "It sucks. Yeah, it sucks," said running back  Ezekiel Elliott , who has grown into Prescott's best friend on the team. "I know we won; it just sucks to lose Dak, our leader. And I was talking to the guys and it's going to take all of us. It's going to t
