Sunday Night Football open thread: Cowboys at Eagles The NFC LEast headlines Sunday Night Football. As if a disappointing  Lions  loss isn’t bad enough, we have to watch the NFC East on Sunday Night Football. The  Philadelphia Eagles  sit atop the division with an appalling 2-4-1 record. They are coming off a Thursday Night Football victory over the  New York Giants , but just barely. A 22-21 win over a bottom feeder like the  Giants  does not reflect well on the  Eagles . Any slip up in a closely fought division could be the difference between the playoffs and a top ten draft pick. Back when this game was first scheduled, the broadcasters were likely expecting a battle between  Dak Prescott  and  Carson Wentz  and two competitors in the NFC.
